Dacula Business Association introduces New Board
DBA to focus on growing membership in 2011! First meeting of the year set for Tuesday, January 18
DACULA (January 11, 2010) – Dacula Business Association meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Trophy Club of Apalachee on Dacula Road. Complimentary lunch is provided. Business leaders are encouraged to attend to meet other businesses in the community. “I am so proud to represent the Dacula Business Association as President this year. This group truly supports each other in business, friendships and is embedded in their community.” Said Tara Friedman, DBA President and Event Manager of Stars & Strikes. “Our hope for 2010 was to grow membership; not only were we successful, but we had to re-locate our meetings to a new venue to support our growth in numbers. We will focus on that goal again in 2011. Businesses may visit before paying membership dues to insure our group is a good fit for them.” Restaurants who wish to showcase their menus by providing lunch are granted a complimentary membership. In addition to our regular monthly meeting, we have incorporated a weekly 11:45am lunch networking meeting on Monday’s at Stars & Strikes. Both monthly and weekly meetings have experienced tremendous attendance growth.
The DBA will kick off the New Year with mostly new faces on the board for the 2011 term.

Officer Bio
President – Tara Friedman: Tara is the Community Relations/Event Manager at Stars and Strikes Family Entertainment Centers. She has been with the company since moving to Gwinnett in 2006 and is based in the Dacula location but works closely with the locations in Forsyth and Paulding Counties. Tara is a Communications graduate from Valdosta State University. She worked in radio for over 12 years including as the Director of Marketing for Clear Channel Communications in Savannah for seven years overseeing the marketing/promotions department for the six station cluster. Tara has been married to her husband Jason for nine years and is the proud mom of a three year old son, Jaye as well as her four legged children - three very spoiled poodles! Tara and Jason will also welcome a new baby addition in June 2011. She enjoys family nights @ Stars & Strikes, Gwinnett Gladiators hockey and family road trips in their Jeep Wrangler through the North Georgia Mountains. She also serves in the children’s ministry department at 12Stone Church where she is a member. Stars & Strikes has been a member of Dacula Business Association since opening in 2007; Tara served on the DBA board since 2009. She loves helping to serve her community and is very hopeful of the success and growth coming to Dacula.
President Elect – Paul Daniel: Paul is the President of Liquid Promotions, Inc a Custom Label Bottled Water company. With over 16 years of experience in the bottled water industry Paul opened up Liquid Promotions, Inc in late 2008 and has been an active member of the Dacula Business Association ever since. The company specializes in taking the most popular beverage in the world, bottled water and turning it into a practical, interesting and cost effective way to promote or enhance the image of any organization. Paul has been married to his wife Brittany for over 10 years and they have 2 boys Zachery, 6 and Joshua, 4. Paul has been involved as a volunteer coach with the Dacula Athletic Associations since for the past 3 years and serves on the golf committee for the Manna Scholarship Funds yearly fundraising tournament held most recently at Dacula’s own Trophy Club of Apalachee. Paul looks forward to serving the Dacula Business Association in 2011 and helping the community and its local businesses.
VP Events, Jeff McPhail: Jeff McPhail is the owner and photographer of Spotlight Picture portrait studio located in historic downtown Dacula. Jeff has over 20 years experience in the printing and publishing industry. He truly enjoys his passion of capturing that special moment for his clients in studio and on location. Jeff not only does traditional portraiture photography, he also provides his services for weddings, events, concerts, and model portfolio, as well as product photography.Jeff is married to Paige and they have a 7 year old son, Reece. They attend Hebron Church where he is involved in the P.I.C.S (Photographers In Christ Service) group that provides photography support for the media ministry. He is also involved with the Miss Dacula Pageant which provides mentorship for young women in community service.
Secretary, Lauren Maxwell: Lauren Maxwell is the Business Development Manager for LAN Systems which provides IT solutions in the Greater Metro Atlanta Area. Since joining the company in July, 2008, she has established herself as a sales management professional that has won high praise from her colleagues and clients. Lauren graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA degree in Communications and has excelled in professional development courses through Dale Carnegie. She is an involved professional with numerous responsibilities supporting business associations and chambers in the Metro Atlanta area. Lauren also volunteers considerable time to local non-profit organizations, such as Rainbow Village, Green in Gwinnett Area, Relay for Life, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and the Foster Children’s Foundation. Lauren was recently elected to the board of the Dacula Business Association of which LAN Systems has been a member since 2009.
Treasure, Christian Jolly: Christian Jolly is the owner of TradeWind Productions. A 2003 graduate of the University of Georgia, Christian received a degree in journalism with a focus on broadcast media and telecommunications. For the first five years following college, Christian was employed by ProNetwork TV producing and editing a wide variety of business-centric training and informational video content for online distribution. While simultaneously working as a freelance video producer outside his normal employment, Christian struck out on his own for good in 2008 with TradeWind Productions. He and his wife have lived in Dacula for 5 years with their Shetland sheepdog Jingles, and their son Caleb was born in March 2008. A member of Hebron Baptist Church, Christian is also an active volunteer with the media ministry, helping to produce the live video and audio support for the worship services on Sunday mornings as well as special events throughout the year.
